Sunday Thought – 14.04.24

“Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” (NIV, Acts 16:31). This was the simplicity of the message that the apostle Paul and his companion Silas brought to a jailer and his family in the middle of the night.

It is that same simple message that Christians around the world have accepted and seek to share with those around them – a message that turns people’s futures from eternity in hell, separated from God, to eternity with him in heaven. Every Sunday Christians meet together, coming along not because of who they are or what they’ve done, but coming united by what Jesus has done for them by dying on the cross for their sins.

“Amazing Grace, that saved a wretch like me, I was lost, but now am found!”

John Newton, c.1779
