Sunday Thought – 09.02.25

I wonder where we go to for advice? The world has so many different thoughts and opinions that can influence what we do and say. As Christians some of this will be helpful to us, but much could be unhelpful – instead we turn to God’s word for that guidance. James challenges us in James 1:22:

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

So how do we choose to live our lives? As we come together in church this morning, do we come with an attitude of being prepared to be challenged and/or encouraged by God’s Word, or are we ‘going through the motions’ of what we do as Christians?

I trust we ‘enjoy’ our time in fellowship with one another and with God today, but that the message we hear we will not quickly be forgotten, and that we choose each one to be living by God’s Word.
