Sunday Thought – 05.01.25
Today is Sunday 5th January, 2025. The first few days of any New Year is often a time of resolutions, planning, anticipation, resettling family relationships and/or adjusting to a more healthy lifestyle with changes to diets and exercise regimes. For a variety of reasons however, many of our “best laid plans” made at the beginning of January fail to continue or even materialise!
The Bible says that there is a plan for the Lord Jesus to return in the future; a plan full of certainty. In the last chapter in the Bible Jesus is quoted twice to say “Behold, I am coming soon” (ESV, Revelation 22:7,12) as part of the certainty of the promised plan. Christians believe that God will always keep his promises and look at examples throughout the Bible where he has done so in the past. In light of the potential for 2025 to be the year this particular promise is kept, are you personally prepared, enthusiastic, fearful, excited… or indifferent?
“It may be at morn , when the day is awaking,

When sunlight through darkness and shadow is breaking,
That Jesus will come in the fullness of glory,
To receive from the world ‘His Own’
O Lord Jesus how long?
How long ere we shout the glad song?
Christ returneth, Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Amen!
Hallelujah! Amen!”
