Mystery Revealed
Ephesians 1:7-10
“In him (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he[d] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfilment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.“
The terrible tragedy of the Air India crash last month remains a mystery even after the preliminary report into the findings was released last week. One of the relatives of those who perished in the crash had said, before the report was given, “We want to know exactly what happened. It won’t change anything for us now, we continue grieving – just as we have since that day. But at least we’ll have some answers.” They still await answers.
Finding answers for lots of things about life and events can be difficult and remain a mystery. In Ephesians 1:7-10, we read that the mystery of God’s will was revealed… in the death and resurrection of Jesus. The answer of how to get to heaven is there for those who choose to see it. As Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
