Sunday Thought – 15.09.24
The Bible is full of passages written to help and encourage readers in their lives of following God. One such was written by the apostle Paul:
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
(NIV, Philippians 2:5-8)
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!”
This is a wonderful reminder of what Jesus did and a enormous challenge for Christians as to how they relate to one another. Do you truly show that Christ-like love in all your relationships?
Prayer Points for the Week:
- Pray for those risking their lives crossing the English Channel in boats, that they would be viewed as people rather than statistics.
- Pray for the safety of people in Central and Eastern Europe during the ongoing extreme floods after Storm Boris.
- Please pray for the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East. For peace; for aid to get through to those in need; for those mourning the loss of loved ones.
